Pre-Transaction
Often there is a short list of potential acquisitions that are obvious because of industry, capability or IP. Many growth agendas require a more strategic approach in determining acquisitions:
- Identifying opportunistic markets or momentum markets
- Identifying gaps in current markets or new markets that can be exploited
- Identifying markets or opportunities to position for creating flywheels
- Identifying markets or industries that the org has ‘permission’ to come into
- Identifying markets or industries in which additional customer or partner value (real or perceived) can be created
